Contracts exchanged for purchase of All Saints' College

On Friday November 24, The Presbyterian Church in NSW and the All Saints’ College Council exchanged contracts for the purchase of All Saints’ College by the Presbyterian Church.

HANDSHAKE: Bishop of Bathurst Ian Palmer and Jeoffrey Falls, General Manager of the Presbyterian
Church in NSW, shake hands after the exchange of contracts for the purchase of All Saints' College by
the Presbyterian Church of NSW.

The Trustees of the Presbyterian Church in NSW, the owners of The Scots School in Bathurst, announced on 29th August that its offer to purchase All Saints’ College had been accepted. Contracts have now exchanged and settlement of the School will occur on 19th December.

As announced in August, an integration working group will be formed in Term One, 2018 to develop a plan to integrate the two schools in 2019. The working group will include a wide range of members from both school communities. There will be no major changes to the running of either school in 2018.

“We have worked harmoniously for the past three months so that we have reached the point of exchanging contracts today” Bishop of Bathurst, Bishop Ian Palmer said.“This will give staff, parents and students the confidence they have been looking for that the future of the school we know as All Saints’ College is secure in its Christian tradition.”

“All Saints’ College was set up by the first Bishop of Bathurst 140 years ago to teach pupils in a Christian environment,” Bishop Ian continued. “Through this sale students will continue to be educated within the context of Christ’s love in a world full of change and challenge.

Although circumstances beyond my control have forced the sale of the College, I am grateful that we will not lose the Christian heritage which was the intent of the founders of All Saints’ College and Marsden School.”

Mr Jeoffrey Falls, General Manager of the Presbyterian Church in NSW said “We are privileged to welcome staff, parents and students of All Saints’ College into our group of schools, which includes The Scots College, PLC in Sydney and PLC in Armidale. The Trustees believe it is a blessing to be provided with this opportunity by the Bishop of Bathurst.”

Chairman of the Board of The Scots School, Mr Adrian Lamrock, said “The events of today open up tremendous opportunities for both school communities for the future.”
